The child, identified as Munachimso, was reportedly abducted from her home in the Shomolu area in the early hours of Saturday.

The distressing ordeal began when a maid, identified as Ruth Okezie from Anambra State, vanished into thin air with the innocent infant. The frantic search ensued, with social media amplifying the urgency as a concerned user, #Dannysleek, sounded the alarm through now-deleted tweets.

Amidst the chaos, the maid was apprehended in Ikorodu, confessing to the unthinkable act of selling the baby. However, hope flickered as the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed the astonishing turn of events. Through an intense manhunt and unwavering pressure from law enforcement, the baby was found abandoned in Alade Market, Shomolu.

Hundeyin stated, “Due to intense manhunt and pressure from the police, the buyer in the early hours of today abandoned the baby in Alade Market, Shomolu. Baby was promptly rescued by the police.”
