Minister Wike, in turn, inaugurated the project and revealed that it is part of a broader initiative to construct 30 kilometres of roads across the six area councils of the territory.

Acknowledging Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda, Minister Wike assured residents that the commitment to development was not just rhetoric but concrete action.

He emphasised that the road construction aims to enhance the comfort of rural dwellers, facilitate development, and curb rural-urban migration caused by inadequate infrastructure.

The minister outlined plans for the construction of two additional roads in each area council by year-end, contributing to three rural roads per council.

The Minister attributed the rural urban migration trend to the lack of basic amenities and infrastructure, emphasizing that the project would not only address insecurity but also improve access to education, enable efficient transportation of agricultural produce, and boost economic activities.

Highlighting the importance of maintaining high construction standards, Wike assured the contractor of unwavering financial support, emphasising his commitment to delivering the expected quality.
