Accept Attack as Act of God, Don’t Lose Hope — Borno Acting Governor Tells Victims After Boko Haram Kills 18

Borno State Acting Governor, Dr. Umar Usman Kadafur, led a high-level delegation to the State Specialist Hospital to sympathize with victims of the recent Boko Haram attack in Gwoza town.

The attack, which occurred on Saturday, resulted in 18 deaths and multiple injuries.

Speaking to the press during the hospital visit, Kadafur conveyed the sympathies of Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum and emphasized the need for resilience among the people.

Kadafur stated, “We are here on behalf of Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum to sympathize with the victims and see firsthand the treatment they are receiving.

“We urge the people to accept this as an act of God and not lose hope in the emerging peace in the state.”

He announced that a delegation would be sent to Gwoza, the scene of the incident, to sympathize with the victims.

“Tomorrow (Monday), we are proceeding to Gwoza to sympathize with the victims,” he added.

He also noted that the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) had evacuated and transported some victims to Maiduguri for urgent medical attention.

The state government donated five million naira to support the victims receiving treatment at the hospital.

The Acting Governor was accompanied by Hon. Ahmed Usman Jaha, a Member representing Gwoza, Chibok, and Damboa federal constituencies; Bukar Tijjani, Secretary to the State Government; Members of the State Executive Council; the Director-General of SEMA; and other dignitaries.
