Accident Claims One Life on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

A fatal collision between a commercial bus and a truck resulted in the loss of one life along the busy Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Friday.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the unfortunate event to DAILY POST in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.

According to Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for FRSC in Ogun, the incident occurred around 6 p.m. after Danco filling station.

The crash involved a Mazda commercial bus with the registration LEM56XB and a truck. All three individuals involved in the collision were identified as adult males.

Tragically, one person lost their life in the accident, while the swift response of emergency services managed to rescue the other two individuals without any reported injuries.

Preliminary investigations by the FRSC point towards excessive speed and dangerous driving as the likely causes of the tragic collision.

Florence Okpe emphasized these factors as contributing to the severity of the incident.

The deceased individual’s body has been transferred to the Idera morgue in Sagamu, Ogun State, marking a somber conclusion to this unfortunate event on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
