Adamawa State Police Apprehend Kidnappers, Rescue 9-Year-Old Victim

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a group of six suspected kidnappers charged with the abduction of 9-year-old Mustapha Ibrahim.

The suspects had demanded N5 million ransom for the safe release of the young boy.

The distressing incident transpired in Mubi-South Local Government Area.

The arrested individuals, identified as Abubakar Mohammed, Auwal Usman, Mohammed Abubakar, Umar Mohammed, Abdulhameed Musa, and Muhammad Nasir, reside in Maiha Road and Kaba Ward, which are areas within the Mubi-South and Mubi North local government areas.

According to a statement released by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, these suspects were apprehended following a complaint made by the victim’s father on Thursday, October 19.

The incident unfolded when the alleged kidnappers visited the boy’s residence at approximately 1800 hours under the pretense of buying Zobo juice.

Subsequently, they cunningly lured the young boy away and took him into their custody.

Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, expressed his elation at the successful rescue of the innocent child and commended the dedication and swift action of the officers involved.

He underscored the commitment of the police force to ensure the diligent prosecution of the arrested suspects, promising that justice will be served.
