Real Shame; APC Govt Replaces Hard Evidence with Baseless Accusations, Conspiracy Theories—ADC Blasts Edo Gov Over Comments on Insecurity

The spokesman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has criticised Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo over his recent remarks on kidnappings in the northern region.

Parallel Facts reported that Okpebholo, on Wednesday, linked the ongoing kidnappings and killings in northern Nigeria to a deliberate plot aimed at destabilising the country and undermining Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The governor further compared the current security situation to incidents recorded during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, insisting that the Federal Government is aware of the “tricks and moves” allegedly connected to the 2027 elections.

Reacting in a post on X on Sunday, Abdullahi described Okpebholo’s remarks as not only careless but disturbing.

He said the All Progressives Congress (APC) government was busy promoting conspiracy theories at a time when families were still grieving and pleading for the safe return of kidnapped victims.

Abdullahi stated, “Governor Monday Okpebholo’s comments are not just careless, they are disturbing. Families are still crying, still waiting, still begging for their children to come home.

Instead of giving them answers, this APC government is busy spinning fancy conspiracy theories.

“This is a real shame and a big problem. We can now see the sort of thinking that goes on within the APC. When government replaces hard evidence and real intelligence with baseless accusations and conspiracy theories, you know that we have a serious problem.

“By the way, does this governor realise that the person who led the weaponisation of insecurity to discredit GEJ is the same man that is in power today?

“How can a self-respecting public figure talk like this?”
