Rigobert Song is eager for the Indomitable Lions to secure another significant victory against the Super Eagles at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium.
In 1984, Cameroon clinched their inaugural AFCON title on that very ground, marking the beginning of their four-title legacy.
In a captivating final match, the Indomitable Lions triumphed over the then-Green Eagles with a score of 3-1.
Now, Song will lead his team onto the field for a Round of 16 encounter against the Super Eagles at the stadium, which has been recently renovated, on Saturday night (today).

The coach is enthusiastic about witnessing his squad replicate the achievements of their predecessors.
“Cameroonians do not want to understand that we have a new generation of players. They must copy their elders. The stadium on which we will play tomorrow is the one which made it possible to write the history of Cameroon,” Song said during his interaction with the media at the Palacais de la culture, Trechville on Friday.
“We want to stay in history. We are here to go as far as possible in the competition.”
