The Super Eagles of Nigeria departed Lagos on Wednesday to take part in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations holding in Cote d’Ivoire.
The team members adorned themselves in traditional outfits, donning white kaftans paired with green caps to proudly display Nigeria’s national colors.
On Saturday, the Atlas Lions, Morocco’s football team, etched their names in history as the first non-host nation team to arrive in Cote d’Ivoire for the 2023 CAF Africa Cup of Nations.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State passionately encouraged the Super Eagles to secure victory in the AFCON, emphasizing that their success would bring relief to the citizens.
The governor delivered this charge during a special dinner held at the Lagos House, Marina, prior to the team’s departure for the AFCON tournament in Cote d’Ivoire, scheduled to kick off on Saturday, January 13th.
