AFCON: “Let’s Get it Done,” Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Cheers Super Eagles Ahead of Semi-final

In a show of support for the Nigerian national football team, the Super Eagles, World Trade Organization (WTO) Director General, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has conveyed a message ahead of their semi-final encounter against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Okonjo-Iweala, in a tweet via her X handle, urged the Super Eagles to get the job done against South Africa and qualify for the AFCON finals.

The seasoned diplomat and economist also extended her best wishes to Jose Peseiro’s men, encouraging them to qualify for the AFCON finals.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala stated, “Wishing our very own Super Eagles the best of luck tomorrow!! Let’s get it done.”

Having secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Angola in the quarter-finals, the Super Eagles are gearing up to face South Africa, who clinched their spot in the semi-finals with a 2-1 penalty shootout triumph over Cape Verde.

The high-stakes match is scheduled for Wednesday at 6 pm.
