The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria following their 2–0 victory over Algeria at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
In a post on his verified X handle shortly after the quarter-final encounter on Saturday, Obi said the AFCON trophy is now within the team’s reach.
The Super Eagles booked their place in the semi-finals after a dominant display against the Desert Warriors, sealing a comfortable 2–0 win.
Reacting to the result, the former Anambra State governor wrote, “Huge congratulations to our dear Super Eagles for flying high over the Desert Warriors! A 2–0 victory that sends a clear message to the rest of the continent.
