PHOTOS: Just 24 Hours After Leaving Labour Party, Valentine Ozigbo Joins APC in Anambra

A former governorship aspirant of the Labour Party (LP) in Anambra State, Valentine Ozigbo, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), 24 hours after resigning from his former party.

Ozigbo officially joined the APC on Thursday at his ward in Amesi, Anambra State. His defection comes as he prepares to contest the upcoming governorship election in the state, scheduled for November by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In a statement personally signed by him, Ozigbo said his decision to leave the LP aligns with his “unwavering commitment” to a greater vision for Anambra.

He noted that he had informed the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, out of respect for their shared political principles.

Ozigbo, an ally of Obi, previously contested the 2021 Anambra governorship election under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but lost to Governor Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
