Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the recently inaugurated governor of Ondo State, has made a commitment to honour the memory of the late governor Akeredolu, who succumbed to a long-term illness yesterday.
This was disclosed by Governor Aiyedatiwa during a sympathy visit to the late governor’s residence in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, accompanied by members of the state executive council. They were there to express their condolences to the Akeredolu family.
Governor Aiyedatiwa assured that the memory of the late Akeredolu will be preserved due to his enduring legacies and impacts that are evident across the state and the nation.
In his homage, Aiyedatiwa portrayed the late governor as a nurturing and empathetic family man, stating that it was an exceptional honour to have been mentored by him.

He further expressed that the passing of the late governor represents a significant loss to Ondo State, the southwestern region, and Nigeria as a whole.
Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted that the late Akeredolu’s legacies will continue to echo through his significant contributions to the socio-economic and infrastructural advancement of Ondo State, the growth of the Anglican Church, and the reforms he brought to the legal profession in Nigeria.
