Regrettably, the initially planned peaceful protest took a violent turn, as reports suggested that a group of troublemakers confronted and attacked the protesters and labor leaders.

Benson Upah, the NLC’s spokesperson, stated to The Nation on Thursday that due to the severity of the injuries Comrade Joe Ajaero sustained during the altercation, he couldn’t receive appropriate treatment at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Owerri.
