In a lively session of the Nigerian Senate, Senate President Godswill Akpabio reprimanded Senator Osita Ngwu for referring to Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as “beautiful” during her screening for the position of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
As Senator Ngwu, representing Enugu West, began his introduction of Mrs. Ojukwu, he praised her appearance, saying, “Mr. President, the beautiful nominee standing before us…”
This comment prompted Akpabio to intervene, stating, “Restrict yourself to the resume. Forget this word beautiful. She didn’t put in the CV that she is beautiful.”
The remark elicited laughter from other lawmakers as Ngwu redirected his comments to highlight Bianca’s qualifications and competence.
Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, representing Abia South, also expressed confidence in Bianca’s abilities, praising Chief Bola Tinubu for nominating a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as a minister.
Abaribe noted that the nomination signifies the beginning of a unity government and national integration.

“By bringing an APGA person to be a minister has already started a unity government and national integration,” Abaribe stated.
After addressing questions from the senators, Bianca was asked to take a bow, concluding her screening successfully.
