High Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan, the husband of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has publicly affirmed that Senate President Godswill Akpabio has been harassing his wife.
In a statement released on March 1, 2025, Uduaghan stated that he had initially refrained from commenting on the matter but felt compelled to speak out due to ongoing developments and the need to uphold family values.
He emphasized that his wife, who was elected based on the trust and confidence of her people, remains dedicated to her duties despite facing undue harassment.

Uduaghan disclosed that Natasha had confided in him about her unpleasant interactions with Akpabio, whom he once considered a family friend.
In response, he said he handled the matter with maturity by personally meeting with the Senate President to discuss the situation.
According to him, both men reached an understanding to settle the issue amicably, but despite this agreement, the harassment has continued.
He stressed that his wife’s concerns should not be taken lightly, as they reflect a troubling abuse of power.

Expressing his unwavering support for his wife, Uduaghan described Natasha as a devoted and truthful partner.
He affirmed his commitment to their marriage and reiterated that he would never trade her for anything.
The traditional leader also noted that as someone who respects constituted authority, he had hoped the matter would be handled with the dignity it deserves.
However, he lamented that the situation has persisted, forcing him to make his position clear.
Uduaghan called on the Nigerian Senate and the Senate President to accord his wife the respect she deserves while the authorities investigate the matter.
He urged lawmakers to focus on the serious allegations rather than dismissing them.
His statement comes amid increasing tension between Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Akpabio, further fueling the controversy surrounding their dispute.
