Senate President Godswill Akpabio cautioned Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan during a Senate session on Thursday.
The incident occurred when the Senate was considering the second reading of a bill. Akpabio called for those in favor to say “Aye” and those against to say “Nay.”
The “Nay” responses were the loudest, prompting Senator Natasha to rise and explain the opposition.
She stated, “Mr. President, we don’t want it to be killed. We just want a bit of modification. We don’t want the bill killed but there should be slight modification.”
In response, Akpabio cautioned her saying, “You see Senator Natasha, in the chamber, you have to be recognized before you speak. We’re not in a nightclub.”
Senator Natasha then stated, “Oh, pardon me,” and returned to her seat.
