“All These Terrorist Groups Are Muslims, There’s Not a Single Christian That’s a Terrorist” — Evangelist Mohammed, Ex-muslim

Evangelist Patricia Mohammed, a well-known Nigerian convert from Islam to Christianity and founder of Mary Oguin Media Ministry, states unequivocally said “There is no single Christian terrorist organization”.

A 42-second video clip shared on X by user @dammiedammie35 on December 8, 2025, has rapidly gone viral and sparked intense controversy across Nigerian social media.

In the footage, Mohammed said “There is no Christian terrorist organization in the whole world. Every terrorist organization you know is Muslim—Boko Haram, Al-Qaeda, ISIS, Hamas, Hezbollah, Fulani herdsmen.”

Within hours, the post had amassed over 450,000 views, 1,600 likes, and more than 140 replies, with many users immediately challenging the claim.

Critics cited the Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda, led by self-styled Christian prophet Joseph Kony and responsible for more than 100,000 deaths and the abduction of tens of thousands of children since 1987, according to United Nations estimates.

Others mentioned the anti-abortion extremist network Army of God in the United States, which has claimed responsibility for clinic bombings and the murder of doctors, as well as the National Liberation Front of Tripura in India and the anti-balaka militias in the Central African Republic, both associated with Christian identity and accused of widespread atrocities.

Supporters of Mohammed countered that modern global terrorism, especially large-scale attacks involving suicide bombings and transnational jihadist networks, is overwhelmingly linked to radical Islamist ideology, and that the counter-examples are either historical, localized insurgencies, or not comparable in scope and ideology.

No Christian is a terrorist

The exchange has unfolded against Nigeria’s ongoing religious and ethnic tensions, particularly the deadly clashes between predominantly Muslim Fulani herdsmen and largely Christian farming communities in the Middle Belt region.

As of publication, neither Evangelist Patricia Mohammed nor Mary Oguin Media Ministry has responded to the growing criticism.

The episode shows how quickly sweeping religious assertions can spread, and be rigorously contested, in one of Africa’s most religiously diverse and digitally connected nations.
