The Imam of Lekki Central Mosque praised Bola Tinubu during Jumat prayers on Friday in Lagos State, commending his leadership and expressing pride in his efforts.
Tinubu attended the prayers alongside Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat and other dignitaries. This was his first public outing since attending Jumat at the Alausa Central Mosque the previous Friday, according to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
The statement revealed that while acknowledging Tinubu’s presence, the Chief Imam of the Lekki Central Mosque, Ridhwan Jamiu, prayed for the president’s success in leading the nation towards peace, security, and prosperity.

He was quoted as saying, “We are proud of you. I remember that we encouraged people to vote for you during the campaigns. We thank God that you have not disappointed us.
“We know you are capable. We know you have the sagacity. We know you are competent.
“We believe and pray that you are not going to disappoint us. May Allah continue to be with you. Allah has entrusted Nigeria to you and will ask you for this trust.”
He was also said to have praised Tinubu for embodying righteousness, fairness, and justice, urging him to sustain these qualities.
“We have seen righteousness in you and fairness and justice in you. Please keep it up and sustain it.
“You bear one of the names of Prophet Muhammad, Ahmed, someone who does what is praiseworthy. This name has been reflected in your past actions, and we hope it will reflect in your actions now,” Imam Jamiu reportedly added.
The president arrived in Lagos on December 18 to spend the holidays after presenting the 2025 budget to the joint session of the National Assembly.
