American singer and rapper, Rod Wave, found himself in legal trouble after being arrested for possession of a firearm in Manatee County, Florida on Wednesday.
The arrest follows allegations linking him to a gang-related shooting incident outside Sonic Sports Bar in St. Petersburg, Florida, on Sunday, March 31.
According to arrest records, the St. Petersburg Police Department made the arrest, claiming Rod Wave’s involvement in the shooting that left four bystanders injured.
Police Chief Mike Kovacsev asserted that three of the detained individuals—Christopher Atkins, Keith Westby, and Kevontre Wesby—are allegedly affiliated with the Young Gangsters gang, with additional arrests expected.
However, Rod Wave’s legal team, comprised of Bradford Cohen and Mark Rankin, vehemently denied the allegations, stating that the rapper was “arrested and detained with absolutely no evidence of wrongdoing.”
