The campaign, which gained traction on social media under the hashtag #Kano, has sparked widespread debate about the state of governance in Nigeria.

Supporters argue that citizens have the right to peacefully advocate for improved governance and transparency without fear of reprisal.

Amnesty International’s call for action comes amidst growing concerns over the shrinking space for civil liberties and freedom of expression in Nigeria.

International human rights organizations and activists have echoed similar sentiments, urging Nigerian authorities to uphold human rights principles and protect individuals peacefully exercising their rights.
