Angry Mob Lynch Two Policemen in Edo Over Alleged Killing of Motorcycle Rider

In a tragic incident in Ikpeshi, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, two police operatives, identified as Inspector Abubakar Fakku and Sergeant Elisha John, were brutally lynched by an angry mob.

The violence erupted after the officers, who were reportedly escorting former Edo State House of Assembly member Emmanuel Agbaje, were involved in a collision that resulted in the death of an unidentified commercial motorcycle rider.

Following the fatal incident, the enraged crowd took matters into their own hands and stormed the Edo State Security Volunteer Network facility, where the police operatives had been taken. The mob attacked and killed the two police officers while also causing extensive damage to the vigilante facility. The vigilante members, in an attempt to intervene, faced threats from them.

Despite the chaos, some vigilant members managed to rescue two other police operatives, who are currently undergoing treatment at Ifejola Hospital Igarra.

Additionally, the vigilantes successfully recovered firearms belonging to the deceased police officers.
