Apostle Michael Olowookere has revealed that he has been receiving death threats since publicly speaking about the Christian genocide in Nigeria and exposing the alleged involvement of government officials, including the Vice President and the military, in sponsoring Boko Haram and other Islamist terrorist groups.
In a video shared on his official X handle, Olowookere said the threats have come from multiple quarters, prompting serious concern from his family, senior colleagues, and men of God he respects.
“I have received a lot of concerns from people, both family members and acquaintances. Many have threatened me, and my elder brother even called to express his concern about how dangerous what I’ve done is,saying people will kill me,” he said.
Olowookere emphasized that he deleted an earlier video not because the information was false, but out of respect for the advice of his family and mentors. He stressed, however, that the truth of what he reported remains unchanged.
“I will not go back and say what I have said is not the truth. What I said is what the reality is. It is the uncomfortable truth, which nobody wants to admit,” he stated.
The cleric said his revelations included accounts of atrocities against Christians across northern Nigeria, the backing of terrorist groups by some high-ranking government officials, and the complicity of elements within the military.
He warned that attempts to silence him or others who speak out will fail.
“Silence the truth today, it will speak tomorrow. Even if you kill the message of the truth, a thousand more will rise. We will not be silent anymore,” Olowookere said.
He described his mission as a calling to speak out against injustice, insisting that fear of death or persecution would not stop him from highlighting human rights abuses and religious persecution in the country.
Conclusively, Olowookere urged Nigerians to acknowledge the realities of terrorism and religious persecution, and called for accountability from officials he accused of supporting or turning a blind eye to Boko Haram’s operations.
