BREAKING: Fubara Triumphs Over Wike as APP Sweeps 22 of 23 Chairmanship Seats in Rivers

The Action People’s Party (APP) has secured 22 out of 23 chairmanship positions in the recently concluded local government elections in Rivers State.

The results were declared by the Chief Election Officer of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), Adolphus Enebeli, on Saturday in Port Harcourt.

However, the declaration for Etche Local Government Area (LGA) was suspended as collation was still ongoing. Enebeli announced that the results for the 319 councillorship seats, as well as the Etche Chairmanship position, would be revealed once the collation process is completed.

Despite challenges, the election was described as free, fair, and credible by Enebeli, who noted that voting ended at 3 pm and witnessed a large voter turnout.

The declaration of results was observed by members of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), chairpersons of other state electoral bodies, and members of the Nigerian Bar Association, who served as observers.

The results were announced at the Ministry of Justice Hall at the State Secretariat complex instead of the Commission’s office due to logistical needs.
