Wike Wins as Appeal Court Reinstates 26 Rivers Lawmakers After Nullifying Removal Order

The Court of Appeal has reinstated Martin Amaewhule and 25 other members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, overturning a previous decision that had removed them from office.

The ruling reinstates their status as assembly members, reversing the previous judgement by Justice C.N. Wali of the Rivers State High Court that had removed them from office.

The appellate court clarified that only the Federal High Court has the jurisdiction to determine cases regarding tenures and vacancies of the House of Assembly, governors, and the president, not the State High Courts.
