The Court of Appeal has upheld its previous judgment, affirming Senator Austin Akobundu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the rightful winner of the February 25, 2023 National Assembly election in Abia Central Senatorial District.
In a session held in Abuja on Friday, the Appeal Court rejected the application brought by Hon. Darlington Nwokocha of the Labour Party
Nwokocha had sought a review and reversal of the earlier judgment that declared Senator Akobundu as the duly elected representative for Abia Central Senatorial District.

The court dismissed Nwokocha’s application and imposed a cost of N5 million to be paid by him to the Senator
