Araromi-Okeodo Community Celebrates First Electricity Supply In 91 Years

The community of Araromi-Okeodo, located in the Ife-South Local Government Area of Osun State, recently erupted in joyous celebration. This was due to the fact that, after a long 91 years wait, they were finally connected to the national grid. This momentous occasion was a cause for great celebration among the community’s residents.

The project was part of an initiative by Governor Ademola Adeleke to partner with independent energy companies to provide electricity to communities that have been without power for a long time. The 50-kilowatt energy firm responsible for the supply of power was inaugurated in an event led by the monarch of the town, Oba Abbas Akanbi, the Alara of Araromi-Okeodo.

In his speech, Oba Abbas Akanbi expressed his joy and gratitude. He said, “This is indeed a momentous occasion for our community. We have waited for this day for a very long time and we are grateful to everyone who made it possible.”

Governor Ademola Adeleke also spoke at the event, stating that “This project is part of our commitment to improving the lives of our people. We believe that access to electricity is a basic right and we will continue to work towards ensuring that all communities in Osun State have access to reliable electricity.”

The residents of Araromi-Okeodo were ecstatic about the development. One resident said, “We are overjoyed. This will change our lives in so many ways. We can now have access to basic amenities that require electricity.”
