The Arewa Youths Forum (AYF) has strongly criticized Senate President Godswill Akpabio for his recent remarks blaming former CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele for Nigeria’s economic woes.
In a scathing rebuke, the AYF accused Akpabio of hypocrisy, likening his actions to “the pot calling the kettle black.”
The youth forum asserted that Akpabio’s criticisms were merely a ploy to divert attention from his own corruption allegations and ongoing legal battles with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Highlighting the corruption allegations against Akpabio, including a reported N40 billion fraud in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and over N86 billion in contract scams, the Arewa Youths Forum reminded the public of Akpabio’s previous invitation by the EFCC for questioning.
The Arewa Youths Forum urged Nigerians to see through Akpabio’s diversionary tactics and stressed the importance of accountability and justice in addressing corruption allegations.
Expressing disappointment at Akpabio’s remarks, the group suggested that individuals facing corruption allegations should refrain from making baseless accusations against others.
“Any discerning mind would not hesitate to conclude that Akpabio’s outing was nothing by diversionary tactics, typical of the pot calling the kettle black,” the group stated.
