Armed Man holds hostage in hamburg

A dramatic situation unfolded at Hamburg Airport on Saturday night when an armed man drove through a security gate and parked his car next to a Turkish Airlines plane with passengers on board.

The Armed Man, who is of Turkish origin and from Lower Saxony, had abducted his 4-year-old daughter from her mother earlier that day amid a custody dispute, according to the police.

He fired several shots in the air and threw Molotov cocktails from his vehicle, but did not injure anyone.

The plane was quickly evacuated, and all passengers were safe, the police confirmed.

The airport was also closed for the night, affecting about 3,200 travelers.

The police said they were in contact with the man through a psychologist and that he wanted to talk to them.

They also said there was no indication that he could harm other people, as he was isolated on the tarmac.

The standoff lasted for several hours as the police tried to persuade the man to surrender peacefully and release his daughter.

The police did not disclose the outcome of the negotiations or the identity of the man.
