Arsenal Defeats Manchester City in a Scintillating Encounter at Emirates

In the Premier League, Arsenal defeated Manchester City for the first time since 2015 on Sunday at the Emirates thanks to a goal from Gabriel Martinelli in the 86th minute.

The Brazilian scored as a substitute after returning from a hamstring injury, and Nathan Ake’s deflection allowed Mikel Arteta’s team to triumph against their rivals.

Arsenal and Tottenham, both north London teams, are tied at the top of the table with the same number of points, while City drops to third after two consecutive Premier League losses.

Josko Gvardiol’s attempt from City’s first opportunity was cleared off the line by Rice, and then Ake scooped a shot from close range over the crossbar.

Julian Alvarez twice almost caught David Raya in possession on his line as the Arsenal goalie struggled.

However, it was the home team that celebrated when Martinelli, who was brought on as a substitute for the second half, made that crucial contribution.

Arsenal’s victory has now broken the 12-game winless streak against Manchester City. Their win today is the first EPL win against City since 2015. Arsenal and Tottenham are the only two unbeaten clubs in the Premier League.

Arsenal’s next game will be a London Derby against Chelsea. This will come up at Stamford Bridge on October 21st.
