Arsenal suffered a 2-1 defeat to Fulham, marking their second consecutive loss and preventing them from securing the Premier League’s top position.

Despite their recent loss to West Ham, the visitors began strongly when Bernd Leno deflected Gabriel Martinelli’s shot, allowing Bukayo Saka to score an early goal in the fifth minute.

Nonetheless, Fulham retaliated, breaking their three-game goalless streak in the Premier League when Raul Jimenez successfully netted Tom Cairney’s cross, equalizing the score.

The afternoon proved to be another tough one for Arsenal, who were unable to land a shot on target in the second half. Their efforts to curb Fulham’s progress were in vain as Bobby De Cordova-Reid scored the decisive goal in the 59th minute, bringing a joyful conclusion to the year for Marco Silva’s team.

This victory, which breaks Fulham’s three-game losing streak without scoring, propels them to the 13th spot in the league table.

On the other hand, Arteta’s squad has managed only one victory in their last five league matches. This defeat adds to their recent woes, keeping them in fourth place and squandering another opportunity to lead the Premier League.

This leaves Liverpool with a chance to extend their lead by three points when they play against Newcastle on New Year’s Day.
