Super Falcons star striker, Asisat Oshoala, has signed a two-year contract with Saudi Women’s League giants, Al Hilal, after leaving National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side, Bay FC.
The 30-year-old forward, who joined Bay FC in February 2024 following a decorated career at FC Barcelona Femeni, finalized the switch after completing her medical on Monday night.
Oshoala was absent from Bay FC’s 2-1 loss to Angel City the same evening. According to The Athletic, both clubs had reached an agreement on an undisclosed transfer fee, paving the way for the Nigerian to travel to Saudi Arabia for her medicals.

During her stint in the U.S., Oshoala featured in 25 league matches last season—starting 23 of them—where she netted seven goals and recorded one assist. Overall, she made 38 appearances for Bay FC, scoring eight goals.
However, her influence within the team gradually declined. Bay FC head coach Albertin Montoya attributed this to her struggles adapting to the NWSL’s tactical demands, particularly the defensive side of the game.

“In this league, defensive contribution is critical,” Montoya explained. “That’s something we’ve been working on with her. When she balances that with her attacking instincts, she’ll be even more effective.”
The move to Al Hilal marks a fresh chapter for the six-time African Women’s Player of the Year, who has represented top clubs across Europe, Asia, and the United States.
