Atiku, Obi’s Petitions Against Tinubu Aren’t Affected By Fire Outbreak – Supreme Court

The Supreme Court of Nigeria, through its spokesman Festus Akande, has reassured Nigerians that the fire outbreak in a section of the Supreme Court building on Monday will not affect Atiku and Obi’s petitions against Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The fire burned just “one chamber” during the outbreak. Mr. Festus Akande claimed. He also stated the cause to be an “electrical malfunction,” according to a preliminary investigation carried out after the outbreak, and that it happened around 7 a.m.–8 a.m. on Monday.

During his interview on ARISE TV, he distinctively explained that the fire that had made its way into the Supreme Court’s building would not affect the petitions.

He clearly stated, “As a matter of fact, there is no single connection, and it won’t affect anything at all in the court. Like I told you, it happened in just one chamber, and the chamber is equipped with computers and other equipment, as well as a functional library used by justices.”

He added, “The only things affected are the books, stationery, and computer equipment in the chamber. We have an e-library in the Supreme Court, so whatever is lost can be retrieved,” he concluded.
