Former Nigerian Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated Mr. John Mahama, Ghana’s President-elect, on his recent victory.
Mahama achieved a historic comeback win in the presidential election on Sunday, as voters appeared to reject the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) due to its handling of an economic crisis.
The NPP candidate, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, conceded defeat after failing to overcome widespread frustration over the high cost of living.
Abubakar expressed his heartfelt congratulations and shared his delight at Mahama’s success. He also mentioned trying to meet up with Mahama before he attended Sunday church service.
“Your Excellency, Mr. President-elect John Mahama. My warmest congratulations on your victory.
