Killing Spree Continues as Bandit Attack Claims 10 Lives, Including Village Head, 4 Children, in Katsina Community

Suspected bandits launched a fresh attack on Kukar Babangida village in the Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State, resulting in the loss of ten lives and numerous injuries. Among the victims were the Village Head, Zauren Katsina, and his four biological children.

According to reports from residents to ChannelsTV, the assailants struck in the early hours of Thursday at 1:30 am, catching most residents off guard as they slept.

Kukar Babangida, inhabited by approximately 6,000 people, predominantly farmers and herders, witnessed the ruthless assault.

Residents recounted that this attack followed two others within the week in the Jibia Local Government Council. The previous incidents occurred along the Jibia-Batsari axis and in the heart of Jibia town, each claiming lives and instilling fear among the community.

A resident stated, “Even within the week, two bandits attacks were recorded in the Jibia Local Government Council.

“One of the attacks was launched along the Jibia-Batsari axis, and the other attack was carried out in the heart of Jibia town itself, and with each of these attacks, lives were lost.”
