Kaduna Residents ‘Flee’ From Ancestral Homes As Bandits ‘Demand Tax’ From Farmers

The Kidandan community within the Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State has been subjected to a brutal raid by bandits, resulting in a mass exodus of residents from their ancestral homes.

The assailants unleashed chaos, firing indiscriminately for hours, which led to the death of several community members and the abduction of others.

Sources, according to Daily Post, reveal that the bandits’ aggression escalated following the farmers’ inability to fulfill the payment of levies previously demanded by the marauders.

This incident in Kidandan occurred shortly after another tragic event where locals were bombed by an Army Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) in Tudun Biri village, located in the Igabi Local Government Area of the same state.

A local recounted to DAILY POST the terror that has gripped Kidandan for six consecutive days, describing the bandits’ attacks as catastrophic.

“They instilled fear, looted, and kidnapped our people. The fear among Kidandan residents is palpable,” he said.

The situation has become so dire that women and children are fleeing in significant numbers, seeking safety away from the turmoil.

As at press time, the Kaduna State Police Command has not issued any statement regarding the distressing situation.

The community, Parallel Facts gathered, awaits a response and hopes for measures to restore peace and security.
