Barking at Davido Won’t Fix Nigeria—Ruggedman

Veteran rapper Michael Ugochukwu Stephens, popularly known as Ruggedman, has defended afrobeats star Davido against backlash over his remarks on the Nigerian economy.

According to Daily Post, Davido faced criticism after cautioning Americans against relocating to Africa, particularly Nigeria, citing the country’s economy as being in “shambles” during a recent podcast interview.

In response, Ruggedman expressed support for Davido’s comments, emphasizing that they were accurate.

He called on the government to address the economic challenges to prevent such criticisms in the future.

Ruggedman also argued that targeting Davido wouldn’t solve the country’s issues, highlighting the unbearable hardship many Nigerians face.

On his X handle, the rapper wrote, “Ok Davido has said what he said, moving forward the government should fix Nigeria so nobody will say such again. All this barking all over the place is not fixing the nation. The hardship is too much.”
