In Bayelsa State’s political arena, three prominent figures—former President Goodluck Jonathan, incumbent Governor Douye Diri, and Timipre Sylva—have been rallying for votes.

Bayelsa: Jonathan

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has publicly endorsed Governor Douye Diri’s bid for re-election in the forthcoming Bayelsa State gubernatorial race.

This endorsement was made during a visit by members of the Peoples Democratic Party Bayelsa National Governorship Campaign Council, along with governors, ex-governors of the party, National Assembly members, and other key stakeholders, to his residence in Yenagoa.

Jonathan lauded Diri’s efforts to maintain stability in the state and underscored the importance of continuity in governance. He stated, “I have been in touch with our governor, and I believe he should be encouraged to do his eight years. He has been able to stabilize the state.”

On the other side of the political divide, the All Progressives Congress’ gubernatorial candidate, Timipre Sylva, has been actively campaigning across the state.

His campaign recently made a stop at Biseni, where he was warmly received by a large crowd of residents.
