Terrorists loyal to the notorious leader Bello Turji launched a violent attack on Gajit community in Lajinge District, Sabon Birni Local Government Area, on Tuesday night, leaving at least two residents injured and abducting more than 20 others.
The assailants arrived in large numbers, overwhelming the rural settlement and carrying out the assault under the cover of darkness.
A security alert platform, Bakatsine, confirmed the incident on Wednesday, describing it as part of a series of coordinated attacks by Turji’s loyalists targeting multiple communities in the Sokoto East Senatorial District.
This latest raid follows a pattern of escalating violence in the region, where Turji’s group has been actively seeking to expand control over strategic rural areas.
Earlier this week, terrorists linked to Turji carried out a brutal assault on Tidibale village in Isa Local Government Area on Monday night.
Residents fled their homes in panic, with families evacuating to neighboring communities for safety amid the chaos.
In a video circulating from the Tidibale incident, villagers were seen abandoning their properties and fleeing en masse under the night sky.

Security sources indicate that Bargaja village, also in Isa LGA, was targeted in a similar operation days prior, highlighting what appears to be a systematic campaign to dominate key settlements in eastern Sokoto.
Despite ongoing assurances from authorities, communities across Sokoto State—particularly in the eastern senatorial district—continue to endure relentless attacks, abductions, and forced displacement by terrorist groups operating in the area and neighboring regions.
Residents have expressed growing frustration over the persistent insecurity, with many forced to abandon farmlands, homes, and livelihoods.
The attacks underscore the broader challenges facing northwestern Nigeria, where terrorist elements like those under Turji have exploited remote terrains and limited security presence to impose their influence through violence and intimidation.
