Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Congratulates Kemi Badenoch, Calls for More Israel-British Partnership

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated Kemi Badenoch on her election as the new leader of the UK Conservative Party, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the partnership between Israel and the United Kingdom.

She defeated fellow right-winger Robert Jenrick, 42, by 12,418 votes after a marathon contest to replace Rishi Sunak, who led the party to the biggest defeat in its history in July’s general election.

In her victory speech, Badenoch promised to “renew” the party and told cheering supporters it was “time to get down to business”.

Badenoch was congratulated by several of her predecessors, including Sunak, who posted on social media: “I know that she will be a superb leader of our great party.”

Netanyahu while sending his congratulatory on X, formally Twitter said,”I send my heart felt congratulations to Kemi Badenoch,”

However, he further said that “I am sure she will continue the great tradition of Israeli British partnership and friendship.”
