Betta Edu, the currently suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has been summoned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to its Abuja headquarters for an inquiry into alleged fraudulent activities.
Following the announcement of Edu’s immediate suspension by Tinubu on Monday, he instructed the EFCC to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the ministry’s operations.
According to sources, the EFCC has, however, invited Edu to appear before the commission on Tuesday in order to help with an investigation into the contentious payment of N585.189 million into a private bank account that has led to her suspension from office.
