Biden Administration Plans Long-Term Strikes on Houthis

The administration of the President of the United States of America is said to be drawing up plans for a sustainable and long-term military strike to deter the Houthis after previous small-scale strikes proved ineffective against the Houthis.

The Houthis have vowed to keep targeting ships linked to Israel in the Red Sea, despite comments from the Biden administration and the redesignation of the Houthis as a terrorist organization.

On Saturday, the Washington Post reported that the Biden administration was crafting plans for a sustained campaign against the Houthis.

“Are they stopping the Houthis? No,” Mr. Biden told reporters this week. “Are they going to continue? Yes.”

US officials said they do not expect the military campaign to stretch like Afghanistan, Iraq, or Syria.

The Houthis have claimed that only the cessation of hostilities in Gaza will lead to a halt of targeting ships in the Red Sea.

Skeptics believe that Biden’s new strategy will lead America into another open-ended conflict that will solve nothing.

Any attempts to dislodge the Houthis from launching attacks on ships and vessels will require boots on the ground. Biden’s administration proposal is expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
