US President Joe Biden on Wednesday called President-elect Donald Trump to congratulate him on his victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the election.
President Biden also extended an invitation for Trump to visit the White House.
Meanwhile, the president-elect, who watched the unexpected election results unfold from the White House on Tuesday night, plans to address the nation on Thursday.
Recall that on Wednesday, Harris called him to formally concede defeat, and urged him to honour the “importance of a peaceful transfer of power.”
President Biden also spoke with Donald following the concession and reaffirmed his invitation to the White House.
