US Election: President Biden Congratulates Trump on Victory After Initial Silence

US President Joe Biden on Wednesday called President-elect Donald Trump to congratulate him on his victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the election.

President Biden also extended an invitation for Trump to visit the White House.

Meanwhile, Trump who watched the unexpected election results unfold from the White House on Tuesday night, plans to address the nation on Thursday.

Recall that on Wednesday, Harris called Trump to formally concede defeat, and urged him to honor the “importance of a peaceful transfer of power.”
