Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, announced that ongoing blackouts in Northern Nigeria are a result of security threats.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Adelabu addressed the prolonged power outage in the region, explaining that repairs to the vandalized Shiroro-Kaduna transmission line have been delayed due to security concerns.
“This time was more severe, and the repairs have been delayed because of security threats,” he stated.
DAILY POST reports that Minister Adelabu has assured that power supply to Northern Nigeria will be restored by the end of the week.
This announcement follows Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive for the minister and relevant agencies to address the extended power outage affecting the region.
