United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, landed at Abuja airport today around 4:10 PM as part of a diplomatic mission to strengthen ties between the US and Africa.
Shortly after his arrival, Blinken is scheduled to visit the State House in Abuja for a meeting with Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Later in the evening, at approximately 10 PM, the Secretary of State will travel to Lagos for scheduled engagements on Wednesday.
The visit aims to address key areas of collaboration, including climate, food, and health security, as highlighted in a press statement from the US Mission in Abuja released on Thursday.
Blinken’s presence in Nigeria underscores the significance of the US-Africa partnership, and the discussions with Tinubu are expected to pave the way for enhanced cooperation in various sectors.
Tomorrow night, Antony Blinken is anticipated to depart Nigeria for Angola, marking the continuation of his diplomatic tour across the continent.
