Bola Ahmed Tinubu should Be in Jail not the State House – Aisha Yesufu

In a YouTube video, Aisha Yesufu, a prominent social justice activist and active citizen, has called for Bola Tinubu to be charged with forgery. Aisha Yesufu, a fervent supporter of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, expressed her dissatisfaction with the state of affairs in Nigeria, particularly concerning the alleged certificate forgery involving Tinubu. She argued that Tinubu should face legal consequences and be imprisoned rather than residing in Aso Villa.

According to Yesufu, forgery is an unlawful act that must be treated as such. She referenced a 1999 case involving Salisu Buhari, the House of Representatives Speaker at the time, who was found guilty of falsifying his certification. Buhari was charged, sentenced to a two-year prison term with the possibility of a fine, and later granted a presidential pardon.

Yesufu further contended that Nigeria should issue an apology to Mmesoma, a girl allegedly involved in forging her JAMB results, if Tinubu remains unaccountable for his alleged fabrication. She asserted that if forgery is not considered a crime for one individual, it should not be exempt for others.

Aisha Yesufu emphasized that Nigeria is greater than any single individual, and anyone found violating the law should face legal consequences. This sentiment echoed her previous disapproval of Bola Tinubu, including her criticism of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal’s decision to uphold Tinubu’s election victory. Yesufu has consistently maintained that Tinubu did not legitimately win the 2023 presidential election, accusing him of using fraud to attain power.
