A youth forum in Borno State has issued a plea to Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging for the pardon and release of suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari.
The forum highlighted Kyari’s significant contributions to the fight against banditry and insurgency in northern Nigeria.
DCP Abba Kyari, a prominent figure in the Nigerian Police Force, was suspended from duty following his implication in a fraud case involving international fraudster Hushpuppi.
Despite this, the youth forum in Borno State called for his pardon, citing his previous efforts in combating criminal activities in the region.
Acknowledging Kyari’s purported exploits and achievements in tackling banditry and insurgency, the forum emphasized that his role in maintaining security and restoring peace in Borno State and beyond cannot be overstated.
”His continued suspension could potentially undermine ongoing efforts to combat crime and protect communities from terrorist threats,” the forum stressed.
Moreover, the youth forum stressed the importance of recognizing and appreciating the contributions of security personnel who risk their lives daily to safeguard the nation.
They argue that Kyari’s suspension could adversely affect morale within the security forces, potentially hindering their effectiveness in tackling security challenges.
