BREAKING: Former CAF President, Issa Hayatou, Confirmed Dead

Issa Hayatou, the former President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), has passed away at the age of 77.

He died in Paris on Thursday, just one day before what would have been his 78th birthday.

A prominent Cameroonian football administrator, Hayatou led CAF for an extraordinary 29 years, from 1988 to 2017.

Throughout his tenure, he was instrumental in the development of African football, helping to secure additional slots for African teams in the FIFA World Cup and overseeing the historic 2010 World Cup hosted in South Africa.
