In a reflection on the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, ex-Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani described him as the worst leader in Nigeria’s history.
He said Buhari’s eight years in power were a total waste of time for the country, with no meaningful achievements to justify the period.
Sani criticised Buhari for repeatedly appointing officials who failed in their duties yet were allowed to remain in office without accountability.
“Buhari has wasted Nigeria’s time for 8 years. He employed people, he appointed people who failed, and he kept on extending their period in office. That’s very wrong,” he said.
He also faulted Buhari for accusing previous governments of corruption and mismanagement, only for his own administration to fall short of expectations.
“He has accused all governments of corruption… Here, his government has proven one of the worst in the history of Nigeria,” the former lawmaker added.
Sani urged current and future leaders to govern with the fear of God and genuine commitment, stressing that Nigeria can only become united and prosperous when leaders fulfil their pledges to the people.
