Bayero University, Kano State, has announced the indefinite suspension of ongoing first-semester undergraduate examinations and all other academic activities in response to the nationwide strike action initiated by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC).
The decision to suspend academic activities was made by the university management following the resolution of the university unions to join the nationwide strike.
The announcement was conveyed in a statement signed by the university’s acting Registrar, Mrs. Amina Abdullahi, and issued to the media on Tuesday evening.

“The suspension of the ongoing first-semester examinations and all other academic activities is in line with the nationwide strike embarked upon by NLC and TUC,” the statement reads.
The statement further advised all students to remain calm and await further directives from the university management regarding the resumption of academic activities. The management assured students that the ongoing examinations would resume once the strike is called off.
The suspension of academic activities at Bayero University is expected to have an impact on students, potentially disrupting their academic progress and delaying their graduation plans.
