In a recent interview, Call Her Daddy host Alexandra Cooper didn’t hold back as she casually (but pointedly) called out Vice President Kamala Harris for reportedly spending a staggering $100,000 on a temporary studio set for an interview in Washington, D.C.
The Harris campaign reportedly spent six figures trying to recreate the vibe of Cooper’s sleek L.A. studio—which, according to Cooper, doesn’t even come close to costing six figures.
The Washington Examiner first reported on November 8 that the Harris campaign allegedly spent six figures on the interview, citing a “source familiar” with the campaign’s finances. The claims sparked controversy, drawing attention to the campaign’s spending practices.
Addressing the allegations during a Thursday interview with journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin at The New York Times DealBook Summit, Cooper laughed off the reports, calling them “hilarious” and “not true.”
“There’s a little bit of controversy about that podcast,” Sorkin noted, referencing the rumors about the set costs. “Did the set really cost ‘like $100,000?’”
Cooper responded, “My studio that is gorgeous in Los Angeles doesn’t even cost six figures so I don’t know how cardboard walls could cost six figures.”
When Sorkin pressed further, asking, “But do you think they did?” Cooper was definitive in her reply: “Absolutely not! With love to them. Oh my God. It was gorgeous but like it wasn’t that nice. it wasn’t like gorgeous marble—no, that was not six figures.”
